For Our Children Names 2007 Beneficiaries
Organization has raised more than $500,000 for Upstate children
(Greenville, South Carolina: March 10, 2008) For Our Children announced today
its 2007 campaign raised $120,000 for local organizations focusing on the children
of the Upstate. This brings the total dollars raised by For Our Children to more
than $500,000 since the organization’s inception in 2004. This year, the funds
have been presented to 19 organizations.
“We are so appreciative to the community of the Upstate, all of the individual
supporters, and sponsors that enabled For Our Children to raise significant dollars
that stay local and directly benefit the Upstate’s children,” says Linda McDougald,
executive director of For Our Children. “Everyone involved with For Our Children
is absolutely thrilled to support these fine organizations and their far-reaching
programs that have such a substantial impact on our community.”
An all-volunteer organization, For Our Children’s mission is to promote and sustain
the Upstate community’s commitment to the education, development, and well-being
of its children – mind, body, and spirit. For Our Children’s executive board along
with an advisory council of community and business leaders allocated funds raised
from For Our Children’s 2007 campaign to the following organizations:
